The Daily Mile

There are so many great reasons for kids to be more active each day.  This year, we are hoping to inspire teachers to find time to participate in The Daily Mile program that was initiated in Scotland by an elementary school principal.  As a way to combat child obesity, improve focus and attention and to improve the health of her students, this principal asked teachers to find 15 minutes out of their day to have the children run/walk around the field.  Every child proceeded at their own pace that they were comfortable.  They discovered great benefits for their students and they created a movement called

The Daily Mile - U.K.

I think this will be a great program for our students and will do my best to help teachers find these minutes in their day to help all of our students be healthy and fit.
